From Celestial Seasonings' annual design competition, fifty artists were chosen to make tea cups for an exhibition at company headquarters. Purchase and merit awards were made by a panel of company representatives. Selections were based on a combination of criteria: uniqueness and individuality of design, appropriateness to the Celestial Seasonings company image and how the proposal addressed the theme of the show. The project is under the direction of Leslie Ferrin, owner of Ferrin Gallery, a gallery that specializes in contemporary ceramics.
