The Studio Pottery Invitational 2005 will present the work of ten potters, including Mary Barringer (Shelburne Falls); Ellen Grenadier (Monterey), Ben Krupka (Great Barrington), Michael McCarthy (Goshen); Mark Shapiro (Worthington); and Sam Taylor (Westhampton). The artists featured emphasize functional work for use in the home, including objects such as teapots, jars, vases, and platters. Several of the artists featured specialize in pottery fired in wood-burning kilns, a labor intensive and risky practice enjoying a resurgence among studio potters nationally. Artists fdrom out of the area include Katherine Finnerty (Pleasant Hill, OR), Michael Kline (Penland, NC), (Mathew Metz, (Houston, MN), Ron Meyers (Athens, GA), Linda Sikora (Alfred, NY).
