Local Does Matter: Building Sustainability in the Arts Community
Storefront Artist Salon
A moderated conversation among artists, cultural leaders and the public.
Wednesday, December 9, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Following in the tradition of Ferrin Gallery's annual Storefront Artist Salons that examine a subject of topical interest related to the Small Works exhibit, this year's Storefront Artist Salon topic is "Local Does Matter: Building Sustainability in the Arts Community". This year, as Berkshire county continues to focus on the issues of consumer choice and green living, the gallery explores how "Buy Local - By Local" relates to the visual arts. Ferrin Gallery has invited cultural leaders with roles in the creative economy to participate in a moderated conversation about how the Buy Local concept can create sustainability for artists, galleries and nonprofit organizations. As in past December Salons, Leslie Ferrin will offer a projection of selected images taken at Art Basel Miami and the various satellite art shows that take place annually in the first week of December, including a focus on contemporary art produced in the Berkshire region.

Salon participants will include:

Billie Best

Stuart Chase

Nancy Fitzpatrick

Helena Fruscio

Laurie Norton Moffatt

Jonathan Secor

Eugenie Sills

Ellen Spear
