Series of events on Columbus Day Weekend focused on Ceramics


October 9 - 11, 2009

Join IS183 Art School and Ferrin Gallery during the finest fall foliage weekend of the year for a series of four events focused on ceramics! The Berkshire region is known for its rich history for both the presentation and creation of world class art and culture and now it is also home to numerous potters and sculptors.


Potter and sculptor Chris Gustin, one of the founders of Watershed Center for Ceramics, will be the featured guest artist for the weekend that includes a benefit dinner, demonstration, gallery preview and reception and tour of local studios. Proceeds from the events help support the ceramics program that provides work space, classes, demonstrations and workshops at IS183 Art School in Stockbridge.


Friday, October 9, 7 to 10:00 p.m.

Guest Speaker: Chris Gustin, founder of Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts

Demonstration: Chris Gustin, Studio Potter/Sculptor

Fee: $25 IS183 Art School

Reception and Preview of: 2009 Studio Pottery Invitational

Group Show Functional Ceramics by American Studio Potters

Sunday, October 11, 10 to 4:00 p.m.

Studio Tour: Kilns of Western Massachusetts

A self driven tour of ceramic studios in the Hilltowns: Worthington, Cummington, Williamsburg Organized by Ferrin Gallery includes lunch with sculptor Sergei Isupov.

Fee: $50 Start Point Ferrin Gallery
