Adventures of Fire - World Contemporary Ceramics Exhibition The 5th World Ceramic Biennale 2009 Korea (CEBIKO) International Competition will take place April 25-June 21, 2009. The artwork will be displayed throughout the Korean cities of Incheon, Gwangju, and Yeoju, with the final judging to be held at the Incheon World Ceramic Center, Korea. 1,726 artists from 70 countries submitted work, and 186 artists were selected as eligble contestants by the panel of international experts from the field of ceramics and contemporary art. The cream of the porcelain crop includes Ferrin Gallery artists Sergei Isupov, Wendy Walgate and Richard Notkin. The CEBIKO reports that the winners of this year's competition will receive the largest cash prize ever conferred (the grand prize is 60 million KRW).
