Lucy Feller: Wish You Were Near

Wish You Were Here - A Postcard Series, a solo show of digital photographs by Lucy Feller.

Feller has created a series of digitalized and customized 4" x 6" post cards. She begins with vintage postcards and then adds images from the contemporary world.
This exhibit will also include a series of images lit from behind.

Artist Talk and Closing Reception: Lucy Feller will give an artist talk at the gallery at 3:30 on October 10 preceding a closing reception in her honor from 4 to 6pm.

Joe Goodwin: A Recent Epoch

On view September 19 - November 14, 2009

Ferrin Gallery presents Joe Goodwin: A Recent Epoch a solo exhibition of large scale acrylic paintings and small scale intimate monotypes.

Unlike most painters today, Goodwin makes his own paint from polymer emulsions, dried pigments and various additives including marble dust and silica. Each piece has an average of 40 layers of paint that have been sanded as they accumulate.

Preview: 3rd Thursday, September 17th 5-8:00 pm
Opening Reception: Saturday, September 19th 4-6:00 pm
Artist Talk: Wednesday, September 30th 7 pm

Locally Grown/Locally Thrown: Columbus Day Weekend Events

October 9 - 11, 2009


Join IS183 Art School and Ferrin Gallery during the finest fall foliage weekend of the year for a series of four events focused on ceramics!


Potter and sculptor Chris Gustin, one of the founders of Watershed Center for Ceramics, will be the featured guest artist for the weekend that includes a benefit dinner, demonstration, gallery preview and reception and tour of local studios.


Proceeds from the events help support the ceramics program that provides work space, classes, demonstrations and workshops at IS183 Art School in Stockbridge.

Artist News: Roy Superior

Ferrin Gallery's Roy Superior presents "Italia Mia," an exhibition of drawings of Italy at the Oresman Gallery at Hillyer Hall, Smith College. The show features work previously on view at Ferrin Gallery in the show "Italia Nostra".

The exhibition is on view at the Oresman Gallery through September 30.

Artist News: Emmett Leader

Emmett Leader's Sukkot exhibit, originally on view at Ferrin Gallery last fall, is now being shown at the Bennington Museum in Bennington VT. The show, titled Revisiting Traditions - Illuminating Our Times opens September 12th and is on view through November 8th.

Northampton Artists @ Ferrin Gallery

While Storefront Artist Project presents RANGE, a group exhibition featuring Northampton-based emerging artists, Ferrin Gallery presents a group of established artists from the Northampton area on view through September 27th.
